Awesome Judge Calls Dr. Phil “a terrible, terrible man”

dr phil is evil in san diego

SO evil.

Dr. Phil is a douchebag. He is. I mean it. Check this out:

Via Los Angeles Times:

The San Diego judge in the case of two shoplifters who confessed to Dr. Phil had some unkind words for the TV personality this week when the pair were sentenced.

Judge Irma Gonzalez on Monday sentenced Matthew Eaton  to 27 months in jail and his wife, Laura Eaton, to 12 months. Both had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic in stolen goods across state lines.

Gonzalez criticized Dr. Phil, saying he did not give the couple enough help and counseling when they agreed to appear on his show. She called him “a terrible, terrible man,” adding, “what a charlatan this man is.”

On the television show, the couple, living in San Marcos in northern San Diego County, said they had earned up to $100,000 a year by selling stolen goods on the Internet. They traveled to several states, often with their children as decoys, to shoplift at toy stores and other business, according to court documents.

When investigators raided the couple’s home, 500 boxes of stolen goods were seized.

Less Bank Robberies in San Diego

bank robberies in san diego

I know you want me...

This is great. A drop in bank robberies is always a good thing!

Via SignOnSanDiego:

The number of reported bank robberies in San Diego County declined about 38 percent in 2009 compared with the previous year, the FBI said Tuesday.

Last year, there were 101 bank robberies in the county with a total loss of $602,085, compared with 165 in 2008 with a total loss of more than $1.6 million, said FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth.

The FBI also released national statistics on bank robberies, burglaries and larcenies during the last three months of 2009. More than $10.5 million was taken. Of that amount, 20 percent was recovered.

Bank crimes most often occurred on Tuesdays, and regardless of the day, occurred most frequently between 9 and 11 a.m., the FBI said.

Asked about the local decrease, Foxworth said that a number of factors affect bank robbery crime rates, and he said he could not point to a particular factor. He said that the FBI works closely with local law enforcement agencies to apprehend the most violent and prolific bank robbers.

He noted the FBI is still looking for the robber dubbed “The Geezer Bandit,” who last robbed a bank Jan. 28, striking for what authorities believe was the sixth time in five months.

Rewards totaling $16,000 are being offered for arrest of the robber, who is believed to be between 60 and 70 years old.

Good times, San Diego!

Floatopia was Amazing! San Diego FTW!

Some 6,000 revelers showed up Saturday, March 20, 2010, for a floating party — dubbed “Floatopia” — off Fanuel Street Park in Pacific Beach. Drinking offshore let participants avoid the city’s 2-year-old beach alcohol ban.

Already looking forward to next year!
